That nation is Japan not just a tech. and pop culture giant . This Nation leads the world in fields from technology to assembly line labor .With its booming economy and diverse island population , the world is used as its piggy bank and shopping store . This all seem normal and acceptable so far . All nations engage in trade and buy and sell that's commerce I get that .The problem with the people and nation of Japan is not trade of every day consumer goods. It is the
dark secret Japanese people say we as a world are over reacting about and need to stay out of.
This is the trade in exotic and orthreaten and endangered species .
the grafts on the top show spikes
in illegal Whale hunts said to be
scientific research , and the rise
in stockpiled Whale meat in Japanese warehouses . Lower left is a chart on the rise in poaching numbers for the African Rhino soon to be extinct from poaching for its horn a favorite in Japanese and eastern medicine . The Japanese have done well at covering tracks on other topics of this nature such as Shark fins,Tiger balls, and Gorilla hands, all top sellers in the shops of Japan . To point this out wont help much The Japanese have worked hard at being overly polite to the point that most governments just smile back . Check the links below I gave you some on this one . So what do we do on this one ? Do we continue to allow the Japanese to kill the planet ? Can we use the recent events of Fukushima to force them to play nice ? Will we the people of the world sit back and watch as species disappear from the earth as japan says we did not hunt them we just bought them ? Will we continue to allow international law to be loop holed so some eighty year old man can drink a tea he thinks makes his pee pee hard ? I personally don't think his boner is worth a rubber band to wrap around it much less the tigers penis he is eating for diner on the night of his anniversary . Besides the rest of the world is using Viagra and seems to be happy .The average waist of life in the trade of these
witch doctor potions is 96% or Higher . The only exception to that is the commercial oops sorry SCIENTIFIC Whale hunting . The point being is if we told the government of Japan that from this day forward all exports from Japan and all financial returns would only pay 4% they would be out raged . They have no problem exploiting the resources of the world with waist numbers of others at 96%, but would not stand for us forcing it upon them . Most of the places theses items are poached from sell them well under the value of Japans market for the goods. Poacher Face death for what amounts to enough money to feed families fora couple weeks . This keeps them willing to risk the hunt and potion stores stalked with fresh goods . I am not saying this practice is limited to Japan . I am however saying that with a government who has made friends with cheap trade all over the world , and built and excellent legal defense team educated in every nation around the world how do we slow or stop the flow ? Japan has done an excellent job at pushing the buck . Researching this subject can quickly become a full time job just digging threw red tape and fake documents that focus on the trade not the consumption of taboo animals.
Organizations like Sea Shepard , and Green Peace have fought the Japanese for Decades . Others such as the World Wild Life Federation have also in their own way defended the worlds endangered species from poachers , but never bother to point a finger. Those who do point the finger quickly find themselves labeled "Eco terrorists" and the Japanese quickly send in the lawyers . This became comically evident to me in the last season of Whale wars when the Japanese government brought charges against the Sea Shepard's in the Ninth District court. For those of you who don't know the Ninth district is located in Ohio . This is my backyard the jobs yea those are great ,but lets be clear this is not little Japan . The days of Ohio owing Japan legal favors for jobs now being sent to other states those are over. So maritime law was to be decided in the home of Honda north American not along the coast ? For that matter what business is it of the United States What happens in the waters of Antarctica or Australia ? Is the state of Ohio so deep in the pocket of the Honda company that this was the best place to do this ? Do we as Americans owe the Japanese more reparations for WWII ? If so then what do they owe the world for Fukushima ? I don't enjoy Whale meat , Tiger balls ,or Monkey paws my self but ,I want my Crab legs and Yellow fin dang it . We still have yet to see the global impact the Fukushima disaster will have on the pacific . I for one am not confident when the out look and best guesses to eat or not eat is just a maybe . This could be a good time for the world to start looking at all the actions of the Island nation . We can not afford to wait for a repeat of the Fukushima disaster that some say is already coming . And this could be a great time to catch them with a hand in the endangered species cookie jar before we loose another one .
Some would say others in this world do far more evil thing , and they would be correct . I as an American know other nations consider us to be the largest terrorist nation in the world . They claim the wars and the spying all the stuff we talk, post, and blog every day . My point of the axis statement is simple it is being done legally with in most cases support from other nations with no argument . With all of our bullshit you hear voices of opposition at every move from people and governments . So lets all stop saying and thinking its just a few animals in another country its far more then that. Its a nation of nice guys destroying resources and lifeforms for pleasure and profit .
