Do you want the job ? You're kidding me right ?

 

    So last night I take the wife and Daughter out for dinner to a Bob Evans . What can I say I like the biscuits everything goes as expected till my food arrives . I ordered the farmstead and what should have been the easiest meal to prepare on the ticket, with the exception of the onions added to the home fries . The restaurant was not too crowded it was actually what I would have called slow back when I worked in the restaurant business . So I was Quite surprised to see I was being served potatoes that were warmed up in a microwave with no browning on them . The one I picked up and bit in half was still cold inside . That was almost enough until i discovered the pile of diced red onions from the salad station in a pile next to them . I was as polite as I care to be and sent the order back . I told the waitress this is not your fault but no thanks I'm now not hungry .  A couple minutes pass and the manager brings back the same plate yes I watched the entire mess play out as the others in the party enjoyed what they had ordered .

  The waitress was yelling at the cook over how that affects her tips , the cook was yelling at her about how i was just hillbilly piece of white trash trying to get a free meal,  the manager was attempting to calm them both down and failing . Truth be told The reason I sent it back is I don't eat food that is not fixed right . I spent years cooking on grill lines and can tell you never eat anything you send back . Most of the time your ok, but everyone has one of those days and I have seen what happens in restaurants .
so this manager offers me this second hand meal that now has a window time of 40mn.with potatoes that have a grill time of 4mn. ??  By the way Bobs uses pre cut and blanched potatoes they need to be cooked to a temp of 160 0n a grill that's about 15mn.  I refuse the free meal was not my goal Wendy's is next door I had a cheese burger on the way home .

  The most disturbing part of the entire event was the manager asking me if I wanted the cooks  job ? I have no Idea where a comment like that comes from it the I don't eat returned food conversation . Even if I did want the job we have a problem with the I only speak English thing . This at one time was one of my favorite places to eat while I lived on the road . After last night they dropped a few pegs in my book for sure . Its called customer service Bob not offer work to the customer who just wants cooked potatoes . I know like most places you struggle to find cheap labor willing to work weekends . You might want to consider going back to paying a little more for better help before more like me leave your dining room empty .
