Windows 8 my take "its just 7 for people who can't use a computer"

  Had it not been for the sudden death of my old laptop to a bad download while I was not looking I never would have made the purchase of my new pc. I am how ever extremely happy with the screen the size of a tv . The new windows system I upgraded to 8.1 the day after i hooked it up . More free apps. and less usage of my 450gig worth of free space . The tile programs nice but only open explorer so no use to me.  Sorry I loved Mozilla for years but have made the switch to chrome after they announced that everything will be encrypted .

    I was happy to find out I did not need to learn a new operating system at all . Windows 8, and 8.1, are windows 7 for dummies . It is all here and still the same if you close the tile programs and go in the back door . I blame most of this need for a new operating

system on smart phones . I am willing to bet that we have an entire generation coming to age soon that won't have a clue how to use a laptop or pc. Its all about the apps. why navigate the web if an app can do it for you, and besides most are free for now . If your old like me you might remember free tv as well before the cable tv app. came out keep that in mind . Things are only free till your hooked on using them .
  They call it progress I think this is a step back in human ability and thought . I don't need a computer that acts like my phone I can use both without needing to read the instructions . If you can not figure out how to hit the start button on any device are you sure you should be using it ? We seen typing class drop from basic school curriculum to be replaced by computer education . Will this now become smart phones and apps. class ? One thing is for sure the kids in online schooling right now will have stronger computer skills out the gate then others who only know apps .
   I have played with both and will use pieces of both If you are looking for some big change this is not it.
If you have a first generation windows 7 machine like I had yes its worth the change just for the new hardware . Would I upgrade software in a laptop or pc. bought in last 18 months no its a waste unless you like the looks of the tiles don't waste your cash its the same system for all practical purposes . Save the cash, buy some live stream equipment, and go to a kick ass concert this summer and stream the show instead for your friends who did waste the money on what they already had . That's my take on it for what its worth be cool out there .
